Physical and Mental Health

Drug Abuse refers to the excessive dependence on drugs and other chemicals that have effects that are detrimental to the individual physical and mental health or welfare of others.

The disease is characterized by a pattern of continued pathological use of a drug that results in repeated adverse social consequences associated with drug use, is not satisfied as work, family, or school obligations, interpersonal conflicts or legal problems. There are ongoing discussions about the precise distinction between drug use and addiction, but the current practice standard distinguishes between the two by defining substance dependence in terms of physiological and behavioral symptoms of substance and drug abuse in connection with the social consequences of substance use.

Drug Abuse can lead to substance dependence. Both abuse and dependence on addictive behavior, a desire, with the substance despite negative consequences. Almost always implies dependence, abuse, misuse, but often without dependence, particularly when an individual first begins to abuse a substance. Dependence of a biological reaction during drug abuse is a complex interaction between the individual, the substance abuse and society.

Drug use is sometimes used as a synonym, but refers to the use of substances in a manner outside sociocultural conventions. Any use of prohibited substances and the use of licit drugs in a manner not covered by the Convention (eg, physician orders or societal norms) is abuse according to this definition, but there is no generally accepted definition of drug abuse.

-Recurrent substance use in a non-compliance with obligations at work, at school or home (eg repeated absences or poor work performance related to substance, substance-related absences, suspensions or expulsions from school)

-Recurrent substance use in situations where it is physically hazardous (eg driving a car or operating machinery due to dust)

-Recurrent substance related legal problems (eg, arrests for substance related disorderly conduct

-Continued substance use despite persistent or recurrent social or interpersonal problems caused or exacerbated by the effects of the substance (eg, arguments with friends about the effects of drunkenness, physical confrontation)

Addiction is a term used to describe a devotion, attachment, devotion, inclination, etc. Nowadays, however, the term addiction is used to describe a recurring intense need by an individual to focus on a specific activity, despite harmful impact on individual health, mental state or social life. These restrictions may gambling, eating disorders, such as overcrowding and Internet addiction.
